Resin Infusion

The Vacuum Resin Infusion process is a technique that utilizes vacuum pressure to drive resin into a laminate. In this process the glass/carbon reinforcement, peel ply and resin distribution cloth are placed in the mold first. The Nylon bag film  is then sealed to the outer edge of the mold and the vacuum is pulled from one end of the bag while the resin is pulled in on the other side. At full vacuum, a pressure of approximately 14.5 psi is applied. Once the part is fully cured, the bag is removed and the part is pulled from the mold. The Resin infusion process has the advantages over the non-vacuum bag curing composite laminates such as better fibre to resin ratio, Low defects and voids, reduce health issues, reduces resin wastage, fast product time.
